NCCL School Spring Open House April 29th 9am-11am!
The following is a broad curriculum outline:
Listening, Singing, Rhythmic Chanting, Audiating, Improvising, Creating, Moving, Playing Classroom Instruments, Introduction to Tonal Solfege and Rhythm Syllables, Phase 1 Music Literacy; Repertoire to include folk songs and music that may be integrated within the classroom.
Listening, Singing, Rhythmic Chanting, Developing Parts, Audiating, Improvising, Composition, Moving, Playing Classroom Instruments, Tonal Solfege, and Rhythm Syllables, Phase 1–>2 Music Literacy; More difficult repertoire to include folk songs and music that may be integrated within the classroom.
Recorder and Classroom Instrument Ensemble; Continuing to hone skills as listed above, adding composition; More difficult repertoire (outside of the recorder) to include folk songs, music that may be integrated within the classroom, popular tunes.
Vernacular Instrument Ensemble: guitar, keyboard, electronic drums, iPads; Continuing to hone skills from above as well as engage in composition and songwriting. Repertoire to include folk songs, music that may be integrated within the classroom, and popular tunes.
Everyone participates in our two concerts per year.
