At NCCL, we now consider cultural competence just as critical to a teacher’s overall success as content knowledge and classroom management. While none of us understands everything about what any given individual must deal with because of how society is structured around differences, it is essential that we grasp that there are ramifications to the ways people can be treated differently based on this structure. Understanding this means that we must consider these effects in dealing with our students, our parents, our community members, our stakeholders, and each other.
We are seeking culturally competent individuals who are able to design curriculum and choose activities that have the best chance of increasing the learning and engagement among a diverse group of students.

Administrative Coordinator
Summer 2026
NCCL School is seeking a collaborative, organized, and community-centered leader to serve as our Administrative Coordinator. This role is at the heart of our school’s daily operations, supporting everything from admissions and family communication to front office management, events, and strategic planning. As a progressive, student-driven K–5 school rooted in experiential learning and meaningful relationships, we are looking for someone who communicates warmly, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is excited to help shape the future of our evolving school community.
This is an especially exciting moment to join NCCL as we thoughtfully reimagine our K–5 program and strengthen systems that support sustainability, connection, and joyful learning. The Administrative Coordinator will work closely with staff, families, and the Board of Directors to help steward this next chapter with care, creativity, and collaboration.

3rd, 4th, & 5th ELA Teacher
2026-2027 School Year
NCCL School is seeking an innovative, collaborative educator to teach ELA in our multi-age 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classroom, where students learn across grade levels in a dynamic, relationship-centered environment. As a progressive, student-driven K–5 school, we believe strong literacy skills are the gateway to student agency—blending explicit phonics instruction, joyful reading, and meaningful writing to help children become confident, independent learners. This role includes teaching foundational literacy and co-creating an integrated curriculum across writing, social studies, and science. It’s an especially exciting moment to join NCCL as we reimagine our K–5 program, offering a unique opportunity to help shape curriculum, classroom structures, and the overall student experience. We’re looking for an educator who values social-emotional growth as deeply as academic development, is energized by multi-age teaching, and is eager to build, reflect, and grow within a deeply connected school community.

Extended Care Counselors
Current School Year
Do you love working with children in a fun, welcoming environment? Join our team as an Extended Care Counselor! We are hiring Extended Care counselors for our after school program. We provide a friendly environment and flexible schedule at $15/hr. Program hours are 3-6 pm every weekday with occasional 12-6 pm Friday hours, and we can offer a flexible schedule for those who cannot work every day. Counselors are responsible for supervising and engaging with students. They report to the Extended Care Director. To learn more about the program, visit our Extended Care page.
